Injury sucks BIG time. There’s nothing so defeating as not being able to do the usual things. I strained my hamstring a few days ago and I’m reminded of my limits daily. Sitting on the toilet, walking upstairs… you name it, it hurt.

So, that’s where I’ve been. I’ve had that going on plus starting a new job. Lots of changes are coming, I hope. 🙂

I stopped doing keto. I will say that I believe that it works and it’s good for you to do once in a while. The reason that I stopped is because of protein.

Last year, I discovered that my hair was falling out. Not in chunks, mind you, but the shower drain was starting to resemble Polamalu’s head. A dietician friend told me about your body’s response to losing weight and how it can result in hair loss. Hair is protein. Your body freaks out because it thinks that it’s going into starvation mode. That’s when it shuts down certain processes that are normal. Like hair production.

So, I kept drinking my Shakes (mega protein and nutrients) and increased my protein. Over a few months, I started noticing a thicker crown. YAY! But, with keto, you reduce your protein since it can convert to carbohydrates. Hence the shedding.

So, I’m stopping that and going back to my Portion Control. Hey, if it ain’t broke, right? Now, I just have to work out this hammy!
